Pre-paid Funeral plans
Thinking about your own funeral is never an easy thing to do. “Do the thinking now so they don’t have to.”
It can be comforting and reassuring to know that you've taken care of these arrangements, which is sure to provide financial and practical help for your loved ones at an already distressing time.
Anyone can take out a Perfect Choice Funeral Plan. There's no upper age limit and no medical or health questions to answer. Once you've taken out a plan, all of the funeral director's costs will be covered. The plan also includes third party costs (known as disbursements), such as crematorium, clergy and doctor's fees.
These disbursement payments are also guaranteed. So if, for example, the cremation fees increase in the years leading up to your funeral, there is no more to pay when the time comes. Not all pre-payment plans offer this peace of mind.
Some tips and a note of caution; many new people have recently entered the funeral plan market, many are purely salesmen or saleswomen.
They are not funeral directors, they do not have the knowledge an established funeral director will have.
Check their credentials and be very careful who you entrust your money to. If they say the funeral is all paid for, check in the small print that this includes the third party fees (crematorium fees, doctor’s fees etc.), not just the services of your funeral director.
If this is not totally transparent - ask questions!
Perfect Choice Funeral Plans are brought to you by Ecclesiastical Planning Services and carried out by members of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD). NAFD member firms carry out over 80% of all funerals in the UK.
Each and every Perfect Choice Funeral Plan is provided by a funeral director that is a member of NAFD, so you can be sure that your funeral will be of the highest possible standard, in accordance with a strict code of practice.
The money from your plan is invested in a Whole of Life Assurance Policy with a life assurance company that is authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) and regulated by the PRA and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Funeral plans themselves are not regulated by the PRA or FCA but our plan provider is registered with the Funeral Planning Authority (FPA).
With this expert partnership, you can rest assured that you and your family will be in safe hands.
We pride ourselves on giving you the funeral you want and your funeral director will arrange everything on your behalf. You can choose to arrange a burial or cremation, and if you have any special requirements, such as hymns or readings, these can be noted on your purchase agreement, so your wishes are made known.
Our plans are very flexible, so if you change your mind or would like to add any other requests, you can do so at any time.
Terms and conditions apply to funeral plans – please ask for details.
